How to revive wilted hydrangeas after clipping from your garden

Summer is here and hydrangeas are in full bloom! Who wouldn't want these gorgeous flowers adorned all over the house to enjoy indoors as well? After watching a few YouTube videos I clipped a few stems from my garden and brought them to my sink and immediately dunked them into a sink full of cold water to soak a bit which was supposed to perk them up even more but to my avail they drooped and wilted as soon as I put them into their vases!  I didn't understand what I did wrong so I quickly googled a solution and found a super easy trick to bring them back to life again!

Strawberry Lemon Cookie Bars with Lemon Glaze

As soon as the weather starts getting warmer I start to get a craving for lemon desserts! I am not a huge fan of anything sour but the combination of sweetness paired with the tartness of a lemon is just a perfect combination.These strawberry lemon cookie bars are made with fresh strawberries and lemons for a refreshing summertime dessert.

Strawberry Lemon Cookie Bars with Lemon Glaze
Recipe adapted from bakeaholicmama

• 2 1/4 cups flour
• 1/2 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 3/4 cup sugar
• 3 tbs lemon zest
• 1 cup of room temperature butter
• 1 tbs of lemon juice
• 1 egg
• 1/2 cup diced fresh strawberries

Preheat oven to 350.
In a large bowl sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
In the bowl of your electric mixer cream sugar and butter together.
Mix in egg, lemon juice and zest.
Mix in flour mixture.
Fold in diced strawberries by hand.
Line an 8 x 8 baking dish with foil.
Press dough into the bottom of the pan.
Bake for about 35-45 minutes or until a toothpick is inserted and comes out clean.
Let the bars cool before cutting and glazing.

For the Glaze:
1 cup of confectioners sugar and the juice of half a lemon.
Whisk together and pour over cut and cooled bars.
